Compare Archives

Let's say that you have just created an archive of all your sensitive and important documents and you want to send it through email to a co-worker, so that he can modify these files and send the archive back to you. In this situation, it may be required that you verify which files have been modified inside the new archive. It's also important for the co-worker to be able to check the received archive file with the original one, to make sure that no files were corrupted during the email sending process.

For all these situations, the solution is Compare Archives. As you can guess from the program's name, it allows you to compare any two archives and clearly view the differences between them. The application does not need installing, but you need to install Java Runtime Environment prior to running the software, otherwise it will not work.

After launching the application, you should first select the two archive files which will be compared. Secondly, you should select the file types which should be compared inside the two archives. Having all these settings configured, you can start the comparison process and in the end, a report will be opened in the system default web browser, which will clearly state all the differences between the two archives. The report clearly states the files which are identical and also the ones which are different.
